Don’t get me wrong, I’m a rule follower. Like so much so I have done things that weren’t what’s best for me, so I get it. You want to follow the rules, but what if it isn’t actually what’s right for you?

My son is in 1st grade. They have assigned spots when they stand in line. That means the same little boy stands behind him every time they line up.

Now the rule is that you can’t talk in line. You will have to go back to your seat and get called back to line.

Now luckily my son was brave enough to talk to the teacher to solve the conflict. And guess what she told him…

If he’s touching you, you can turn around and tell him to stop.

My son was shocked! She told him to break the rule!
