But I often find that a lot of business owners, particularly those of us with ADHD, struggle to keep consistent with project management.

How's your client onboarding experience?

It's the first real impression of what it's like to work with you.

And yet, so many people fall short here.

If you don't already have a magical onboarding experience for your clients, you definitely want to change that now.

There are so many softwares and tools out there to help us with this: Dubsado, Moxie, HoneyBook, and more.

But it's more than that as well.

Here are some things I've seen people do in their onboarding process that I HIGHLY recommend:

  • Send a handwritten card thanking them to their home.
  • Send a personalized video of you thanking them and welcoming them to your sphere.
  • Send a gift. It doesn't have to be fancy. I used to send $5 Dunkin or Starbucks cards.
  • Make a personal introduction of them to the team.
  • Offer a discount on something in the future.
  • Create a personalized action plan.

Really, it's about showing them you're excited to work with them and showing them they are important to you right away instead of waiting several days to even make contact.

THE ONE HOUR WIN

ALIGN YOUR GOALS WITH YOUR TASKS

I feel like this one is super easy, but in reality, I haven't done this for several months and after finishing this email I'm setting a timer and going to do this one myself.

Take an hour this week to review your goals.

Are you making progress on them? Is there anything that no longer aligns? Anything you need to change or update?

Then look at your tasks. How do they compare or relate to your goals?

If they don't, you need to reconsider them and change them up.

Take some time to align your goals with your tasks and make sure you have a clear objective for every task on your to-do list. This will keep you focused and driven.


DELEGATION INSPIRATION

DEFINE CLEAR ROLES

This is one of the biggest issues I see when founders hire a virtual assistant: they do not have a clear description of the goal, aren't 100% sure where they need help, and don't have a direction for the person they are hiring.

Clear role descriptions are essential for ensuring you get the quality and capabilities you are looking for when you hire.

And I'll be straight up--that can be freaking hard.

That's why you've got people like me!

TIME FOR WHAT YOU LOVE

For me, it's reading.
